In the 1970s, Sammy Heath started building pole barns from the back of his pickup truck, one at a time. In 1985, he added a truss plant to manufacture and sell trusses.  After another successful 15 years, Sammy retired and sold the business to his younger brother, Richard. Richard and his wife, Ruth, now own and operate Health Buildings.

Employees at Heath Buildings have years of experience designing and building commercial, farm and residential structures. Every structure built by Heath Buildings is unique and custom-designed. Heath Buildings also sells building packages for customers interested in do-it-yourself construction projects.

Heath Buildings has its own construction crews and sells steel roofing and siding and continues to operate the truss plant. The trusses are engineered and certified by Alpine. The company has been a member of the Western Kentucky Construction Association since 2000 and is part of the Western Kentucky Home Builders Association, the National Frame Builders Association and the Better Business Bureau.
